If Robert Carlyle was the 12th Doctor, I would actually start watching Doctor Who.

I mean, what I really, really want to see is a non-white and/or non-male Doctor (great suggestions I’ve seen: Patterson Joseph, Emma Thompson, Tilda Swinton), but man, if we can’t have that, this would be GREAT. (For obvious reasons I would also be thrilled to bits if, say, Tom Hiddleston were cast, but I’m pretty sure he’s a little too busy for that kind of commitment. Still hoping desperately that he guest stars in an episode or two, though.)
